The End of the Rainbow

Whats at the end of the rainbow? A pot of gold? But as you follow the path of the rainbow, the gold moves farther and farther away. You will never reach it. The path keeps growing.

Your life is your rainbow. Its not whats at the end of it. Its the beauty that comes from following something you want to do. Many people think that they will have reached their goal when they get to the end of the rainbow. A musician being signed to a corporate record label, A college student landing their first big job after graduation. Our society believes that getting to the end is the ultimate goal. Why shouldn’t the trek to the end be our ultimate goal? The musician didn’t all the sudden become happy because she was signed! She found happiness writing, singing, performing. Getting the record deal is just a bonus. The college student shouldn’t be satisfied when he gets his corporate job. He should be satisfied that he has walked a path no everyone will take. He should be humbled by the education he learned. The corporate job shouldn’t be the end either. The knowledge he will learn from then on is his new path, another distance in the rainbow.

What you do now is all that matters. Not what you did, or what you want to do, its doing something now. Believe that what you are doing now is worth something. Even if everyone else sees it as mediocre or boring or stupid. Be the best at whatever you do. You want to sell hot dogs, be the best at it. Work your ass off.

Some people find beauty from that pot of gold, i choose to find beauty from the rainbow.
